Counseling

Our View of Counseling

“If you had appendicitis, God would expect you to seek a priesthood blessing and get the medical care available. So, too with emotional disorders. Our Father in Heaven expects us to use all of the marvelous gifts He has provided in this glorious dispensation.”

-Elder Jeffrey R. Holland

Our Purpose

We walk alongside members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as they pursue healing, restoration, and happiness. We believe counseling can strengthen your life on the covenant path, helping you use your agency, grow in self-reliance, and move forward with clarity, strength, and a deeper alignment with your faith.

Our Mission

Our mission is to offer excellent, trauma-informed counseling that respects and thoughtfully includes the beliefs and values of Latter-day Saints. We support individuals, couples, and families through life’s challenges with professional expertise and genuine respect for your faith.

Counseling

self-reliance

“The Lord does help when we go to Him in times of need, especially when we are committed to His work and respond to His will. But the Lord only helps those who are willing to help themselves. He expects His children to be self-reliant to the degree they can be.”
-Elder L. Tom Perry

We believe God wants us to be self-reliant in every area of life, which means trusting in Him and using the resources He has given us. Growing in self-reliance helps us serve others, builds resilience for hard seasons, and gives us the stability to make choices guided by our faith. Whatever you, your marriage, or your family hope to get from therapy, we believe counseling can help you grow in self-reliance along the way.

Counseling

Agency

“Therefore, dearly beloved bretheren, let us cheerfully do all things that lie in our power; and then may we stand still, with the utmost assurance, to see the salvation of God, and for his arm to be revealed.”
-Joseph Smith, Doctrine & Covenants 123:17

We believe agency, the ability and privilege God gives us to choose and act for ourselves, is an essential part of the plan of salvation. When we ask God for help, He gives us a plan that includes actions on our part. Suffering can help us gain the skills and strengths to become more like Him, if we choose to let it. Counseling is one way to use your agency to care for your emotional health and well-being.

Counseling

atonement

“Dear brothers and sisters, Jesus Christ extends that same invitation to you today. I plead with you to come unto Him so that He can heal you! He will heal you from sin as you repent. He will heal you from sadness and fear. He will heal you from the wounds of this world.”
- President Russell M. Nelson

“He [Jesus] didn’t just suffer for our sins. He suffered for our pains, our inadequacies, including our depression and anxieties. He’s felt it all.”
-President Dallin H. Oaks

We believe the Atonement of Jesus Christ gives us hope that everything broken can be healed and redeemed. He stands with us, carries our burdens, and makes it possible to be reconciled to God and feel His presence. We help you reconnect with the redemption He offers, take responsibility for the choices that are yours to make, and notice the ways He continues to work in your life.
